In other news

STARS Volunteers Needed

Our 'Special Teens Achieving Real Success" are keeping busy during the holiday season and would love for you to join in on the fun! STARS volunteers must be 17 years of age or older.

November Events

November 2nd - 3 volunteers are needed from 5:45pm-8:15pm to help out with Cheer Class
November 5th - 2 volunteers are needed to have Lunch with Friends from 11:15-1:15 at Jose Peppers in Lee's Summit
November 9th - 3 volunteers are needed to hang out with the teens from 5:45pm-8:15 during a movie
November 16th - 5 volunteers are needed from 5:45-8:15 to do a community service project with the teens
November 30th - 5 volunteers are needed from 5:45-8:15 to go bowling with the teens

December Events

December 7th - 5 volunteers are needed to help out from 5:45-8:15 during a cooking class
December 14th - 5 volunteers are needed from 5:45-8:15pm to participate in a dance class with the teens
December 27th-29th STARS CAMP - 5 people per day are needed to help out with various activities from 8:45am-12:15pm.

Mardi Gras Decorations Needed!

If you are planning on hosting a Mardi Gras themed party this year or know someone who is, DSG would love your Mardi Gras party leftovers for our annual prom! Please contact DSG if you have anything you can donate to the event.

Year End Donation

It's getting close to the end of the year! Have you made a donation to a non-profit to get that last minute tax write off? Consider supporting the DSG through a tax deductible donation by visiting our secure donation site.

Jingle Jam With Us at the DSG Teen and Adult Holiday Dance

Put on your dancin' shoes, bring your holiday cheer and join us for our annual Teen & Adult Holiday Dance!

30 volunteers (17 and older) are needed from 5:15-8:45pm on Friday December 16th to assist with decorating, registration, food, and dancing . The dance will be held at the Matt Ross Center.

Tis' The Season DSG Annual Holiday Party

It’s that time again! The DSG Holiday party will welcome over 600 people to the Marriott Overland Park on Saturday December 10th, 2011.

50 volunteers are needed from 7:45am-11:30am on December 10th to help with registration, buffet, present distribution, Santa visits and other fun activities. Dress is business casual and a light breakfast will be provided.

Can't make it but still want to help? The DSG is accepting gift card donations to Target or Wal-Mart so we can provide toys to every child who attends our holiday party. Any gift card amount is greatly appreciated.

Love Kids? DSG Needs Childcare Helpers for Events

Come help with childcare at the DSG! We are in need of energetic volunteers who love kids and are ready to play! Toys, activities and meals/snacks are provided, all that's missing is your helping hands.The DSG will be offering childcare to our families on the following dates in November & December:

Monday November 14th, Parents Meeting
3 volunteers are needed from 5:45-8:15pm
Saturday December 3rd, New Parent Breakfast
15 volunteers are needed from 8:30am-11:30am
Monday December 19th, Holiday Childcare
15 volunteers are needed from 5:15-8:45pm

All childcare events will be hosted at the DSG office: 10200 West 75th Street Suite 281 Shawnee Mission, KS 66204 (corner of I-35 and 75th Street, across the freeway from Shawnee Mission Medical Center).
